No trouble, no problem

I have seen the posters posted around town about people being harassed and tased by certain officers. I have a theory. If you don't get in trouble with the law, and if you obey the law like you're supposed to, you wouldn't have to worry about being harassed by the police or tased or being arrested. Then you wouldn't have to worry about the police officers knowing you by name. You know, when the police know you by name, there's a problem somewhere, and it's usually not a good thing. My theory is just obey the law. What's so hard about this?

No charges

You probably won't print this, but I wish you would. I've paid over $100 a month in your paper for advertising for quite a while. I noticed here on July 17 in your unclassified pay-as-you-sale ads that this person has eight different ads in the paper. I went down one time to put an ad in, and I'm in business, and they told me I was not allowed to put it in because I had a business. This person has eight different ads in there. I know for a fact that he's using it for a business. Now, please give me an answer on that. Why shouldn't we be treated fair? At least I spend money with you. I don't think he paid for an ad, or spent money in the paper. You probably won't print this, but I wish you would.

The Classified Department is unaware of any business that is using the pay-as-you-sale ads. We will be glad to address the situation if you will call the office at 471-4141.

Cats rule, dogs drool

I can't imagine anyone not liking cats. They are my favorite of all God's pets. They are cleaner than a dog, they don't carry an odor like a dog, they're easier to housebreak, they don't leave their feces on the lawn and the yard - they bury it instead. They are quieter than a dog, they don't jump all over you and they are not viscous and aggressive like some dogs are. Back in the old days, cats were very useful keeping the rats and the mice killed out. I know, because we lived on a farm and we had a bunch of them and the cats took care of them. So there, you cat haters! Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

McCain and Moses

I was wondering if John McCain was going to pick Moses to be his running mate.

Wonderful community

I'm a senior citizen of Matthews, Mo. We have a wonderful community, beautiful park, cemetery, businesses and churches. We are getting a new bank, also a very active Big Prairie Jaycees. No town is more caring.

I'm telling

Could you please put the Immigration number where you can call and report someone who is in the United States working illegally.

The phone numbers are: 701-775-6259 and toll free 866-347-2423.

Reengagement

I'm looking for a lady that helped me and my son on June 16. She bought an engagement ring that I sold her. I would like to see if I could buy it back. My number is 931-1593.

Good riddance

In reference to the pesky moles that the person called about. I think castor bean plants take care of that. I planted one in my front yard and one in my back yard and it takes care of them.
