Nancy Smith

SIKESTON -- Nancy Ellen Smith, 87, died at 5:54 a.m. Aug. 8, 2008, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston .

Born Oct. 9, 1920, in Bertrand, to the late Fred H. and Ova Emma Delk Groves Sr., she lived in Bertrand most of her life, moving in 1983 to Sikeston, where she was a member of the Shady Acres Church of Christ.

On Dec. 28, 1942, she married Marlin Lee Smith who preceded her in death on Dec. 10, 2003.

Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Lee and Tom Mock of Sikeston; two brothers, Edwin Groves and John B. Groves of Sikeston; and two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday with Pat Hogan, minister of Shady Acres Church of Christ in Sikeston, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Christian Hunter, Austin Hunter, Cole Hunter, Lincoln Hunter, Dale Mock and Steven Mock.
