Politeness 101

Thank you for hitting the nail on the head with putting some of the blame on retailers and especially pointing out the rudeness of some of their employees. At one certain chain store we were shopping at this Christmas season we ended up pushing our basket of merchandise aside and walking out of the store due to the very rude remark a sales clerk made to us when we asked for a particular item. At another store we overheard the sales clerk tell an elderly lady that, "Sorry she wasn't in the mood to put on her happy face today!" We ended up helping the lady find what she needed. Maybe I should have the asked the manager for my paycheck! This seems to be happening more and more with employees, and store managers are getting to be just as bad. I think it is time for some re-training at all levels. As far as made in China - how right you are - I am sick of all this junk! How much of this do you think a person needs when they are trying to feed families and keep a roof over their heads? Enough already! Bring the jobs back to America. It's time we started worrying about the USA and quit pouring billions of dollars into other countries.

Happy New Year relief

As I reflect on 2008, I can say we had a great year. Blacks are happy, Obama was elected. Whites are happy, OJ is in jail. Democrats are happy, George Bush is leaving office. Republicans are happy. Democrats will finally quit saying George Bush stole the election. And all of us are so happy. The ugliest elections ever are almost finally over! I think 2009 will be even better: immediately after his inauguration, as campaigned on and promised, Obama will balance the budget, revive the economy, solve the real estate problem, solve the auto industry problem, solve our gas/alternative energy problem, stop the fires and mudslides in California, ban hurricanes and tornadoes from ever devastating New Orleans again, stop identity theft, reverse global warming, find Osama Bin Laden and kill him dead, dead, dead, solve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict forever, get rid of corruption in government and achieve world peace. Then on the 7th day, He shall rest. But one little philosophical point still sticks in my craw, which is: The government cannot give to anyone anything that it does not first take from someone else. Remember Robin Hood took back from the wicked government what it had confiscated from the people. You smart folks have fell for a ruse of the reverse where you have sanctioned the "evil government" to keep confiscating more and more from the people. One day it may be your house that the wicked government invades to rip from you everything you have produced with you own initiative, blood, sweat and tears in order to give to someone else because he has the appropriate skin color or the favored life style of the moment to receive your bounty. Only then you will understand what you have done.
