CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Turnovers, lack of rebounding and inadequate free throw shooting led to a Notre Dame Bulldogs victory on Friday evening as the trio of woes plagued the Sikeston Bulldogs in their first loss of the season, 66-61.

The five point margin of victory was a struggle for Notre Dame to accomplish, but it didn't seem that way from the opening tip. Behind Jacob Tolbert and Liam Maher, the blue Bulldogs jumped out to a 7-0 lead before Sikeston's Juqualin Wiggins erased the zero with a free throw.

Sikeston cut the lead to five points in the first quarter but Tolbert tacked on two free throws as the quarter came to a close with Notre Dame on top 17-9.

The second quarter was a much different showing for the red and black Bulldogs. Sikeston outscored their opponent 19-13 in the second frame, led mainly by Wiggins and Will Holifield.
