Tickets for Bill Engvall performance available

SIKESTON -- Tickets for An Evening of Laughter With Bill Engvall are still available. The stand-up comedian will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Sikeston Field House.

Tickets are available at the UPS Store and Homestead Electronics in Sikeston, McClain's Food Center in Charleston and Valeria's Floral and Gifts in Bloomfield or by calling (870) 351-8432.

The ticket office will open at 4 p.m. the day of the performance; however, event promoter Carlos Nelson recommended purchasing tickets as soon as possible.

"We're really getting a lot of calls (for tickets) from all over area -- Van Buren; Piggott, Ark.; Clarkton; Campbell; Holcomb; Kennett; Hayti; Caruthersville; Dexter; Bloomfield; and Paducah, Ky.," said Nelson, who, in the last year, has has brought several acts to Sikeston, including Meet the Browns, The Temptations and Streetball Live Tour.

Floor seat tickets are $40 and upper level seats are $35. A portion of proceeds will benefit New Dawn State School in Sikeston and Scott County Senior Citizens on the Move.

Nelson said encouraged area residents to come see Engvall perform. "This guy is awesome," Nelson said.

And, ultimately, it's the local residents that determine who will perform next in Sikeston, he said. "We need support (from the community) to bring the different names and the bigger names to Sikeston," Nelson said.
