A handler watches while her dog searches for a scent in a training drill near Sikeston for the North American Police Working Dog Association certification. The training, held by the oldest and largest police certification organization, was held on Friday and Saturday, and brought in handlers from Missouri and Illinois. Marshia Morton, who organized the training and is captain of Scott County's canine unit, said that the training is not readily available, so it's good to be able to offer it in Southeast Missouri.
