SIKESTON -- Neva N. Pharris, age 80, of Sikeston, died at 1:12 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born to the late Dola and Rivers Kerr York on Nov. 15, 1931, in New Madrid County at Big Opening. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Sikeston.

On Nov. 27, 1951, in Piggott, Ark., she was married to Jimmie C. Pharris, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Judy Pharris of Sikeston; one daughter and son-in-law, Ginger and Kent Miller of Sikeston; one sister and spouse, Margie and Bill Jones of Sikeston; three grandchildren, Daniel Pharris, Byron Miller and Jordan Miller, all of Sikeston; and one cousin and spouse, Charles and Sharon Gass of Jackson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, David York; and one grandson, Jason Pobst.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Mary McCord, pastor of the First Christian Church in Sikeston, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Sikeston City Cemetery.
