DEXTER -- Stanley Lewis Weinert, 82, formerly of St. Louis and Poplar Bluff, died Dec. 23, 2012, at the Mark Twain Caring Center in Poplar Bluff.

Born Aug. 22, 1930, in St. Louis, to the late Frederick Ransom and Lillian Mae Wenz Weinert, he had worked as a clerical worker with the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War. He was a member of the D.A.V.

On Oct. 27, 1962, in St. Louis, he married Floy Cothren, and she survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Cary Weinert-Baumann of St. Louis and Lesley Eby of Bloomfield; one brother, Lee Ransom Weinert of St. Peters; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon Fred Weinert and Norman Philip Weinert.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Burial with full military honors will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
