STE. GENEVIEVE -- The Sikeston wrestling came up empty handed Wednesday during the team's trip to Ste. Genevieve to take on Ste. Genevieve, Jackson and Windsor in a quad meet.

The Bulldogs ended up losing to all three teams, including a close 43-42 decision to Windsor. Sikeston lost the match to Windsor by tie breaker criteria.

The Bulldogs lost 70-9 to Jackson and 60-12 to Ste. Genevieve.

Against Jackson, Jacob Stinnett and Nick Nichols were the only wrestlers to come away with wins. Nichols and Garrick Madison each won their match against Ste. Genevieve, while Stinnett won their only match against Windsor.

"We wrestled very flat as a team," Sikeston head coach Chris Lowe said. "We wrestled with five freshmen and five sophomores. We wrestled without five starters due to injuries and weight, but competition was good and we won't make any excuses for our performance."

The Sikeston junior varsity wrestlers went 3-11 against Jackson, 3-8 against Ste. Genevieve and 4-4 with Windsor. Sikeston's led junior varsity wrestler was Brayden Reynolds, who finished 4-1 on the night.

Sikeston will wrestle in the Rockwood Summit 141 Rumble on Saturday.
