SIKESTON -- Pansie M. Poe, age 94, died Jan. 25, 2013, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center in Sikeston.

Born Jan. 25, 1919, in Pontotoc, Miss., daughter of the late M.G. and Bessie Russell McCoy, she was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Sikeston. Mrs. Poe graduated from Sikeston High School in 1937, had been the city tax collector for Sikeston, had worked for Missouri Department of Transportation, volunteered at Missouri Delta Medical Center for 14 years and was a volunteer at the Sikeston Depot Museum for several years.

On Dec. 3, 1938, in Sikeston, she married Irick A. Poe, who preceded her in death Aug. 14, 1997.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Steven W. and Judith L. Poe of West Linn, Ore.; two grandchildren and their spouses, Ph.D. Tracy Poe and Ph.D. Gregory Sullivan of Chicago and Capt. Steven and Devon Poe of Portland, Ore.; and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at the Ponder Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2. The Rev. Bryan Ayers, pastor of First Church of the Nazarene, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
