County officials OK gravel bid

CHARLESTON -- There's been a lot of rock rolling into Mississippi County.

Mississippi County commissioners accepted the lower of two bids on 13,500 tons of gravel during their regular weekly meeting Thursday.

Southeast Missouri Stone Company was awarded the bid on their offer of 2-inch-minus gravel at $5.15 per ton for a total of $69,525.

Also bidding was Strack Excavating of Cape Girardeau with an offer of $5.59 per ton.
