FARMINGTON -- The Sikeston Lady Bulldogs suffered their second loss of the season Wednesday at the hands of the Farmington Knightettes, 11-2.

Down 4-0 entering the top of the third inning, the Lady Bulldogs put together a two-run rally to stay in the game at 4-2.

Unfortunately for Sikeston, the Knightettes answered with four runs in the bottom of the frame before scoring another three unanswered runs in the fourth and fifth innings to close out the win.

DEXTER -- The Dexter Lady Bearcats tennis team took down the visiting Sikeston Lady Bulldogs in a 9-0 sweep Wednesday in Dexter.

Dexter's top three players, Baylee Cooper, Makayla Waldner and Erica Morgan breezed through their matches each winning 8-0.

"Dexter has a solid team," Sikeston head coach Russ Dial said. "I felt the execution of our skills were better today, but before we can stay close to a team like Dexter we will have to be more consistent."

Sikeston's two lone wins were in the junior varsity ranks when Tori Miller won both her singles and doubles match.

Miller won her singles match 6-2 and then paired with Allenna Landers to pick up a 6-0 doubles tandem match.

Sikeston (0-3) will host Fredericktown today at 4 p.m. at the SPS tennis courts.
