Sweep and spray

I had read in the Weekly Record where the city was urging the residents not to throw their grass clippings out in the streets because it stops up the gutters. The city made a wonderful deal with the power plant selling Unit 1. I think they got $100 million. I was wondering if they could bring that city sweeper back out and use it with some of that $100 million. I cannot remember when I saw that run, and it did a fantastic job. Also, maybe they could spray for mosquitoes. I want to commend the city of New Madrid and the administrators and everyone down there for making that fantastic deal with the power plant. It will help all of us tremendously in the city of New Madrid. We are all so grateful for what you have done for us.

Read it and weep

If you have not read the page one story of the U.S.A. Today for Oct. 16, you should get a copy of it. It's about nursing home abuse, all the thievery that's going on in nursing homes around the country. For those that might have a loved one in a nursing home, you should definitely read this page one story. It's quite alarming and enlightening. I urge you to read that and hope that if there are any local problems with this, that your newspaper would do a follow-up story.
