Soggy news

This is a message to the people that throw the papers. Does it make sense to you to throw the paper on a sidewalk that 's covered with water when there's a yard that has just a little water on it? I received my newspaper today and it is completely unreadable. You wasted your time, you wasted my time. And more importantly, all the inserts that people paid for in the paper are completely useless. Think about it.

At anytime that you receive a paper that is unreadable, contact us at 471-1137 and we will see that you get a new copy delivered. In the carriers' defense, there was an awful lot of water on Dec. 21.

Rollin' on the river

This is in your Dec. 16 issue, "Mississippi River should be used for oversized transportation." That's all good and well if they haul enough of it to be productive in cost-cutting. Droughts, floods and other issues on your river could delay as well as transportation that I'm in, the trucking industry. It's always a good thing to save the customer shipping charges. The ones on the river need to know that hazardous materials will be in and out of all their huge freight heavy freight that goes up and down the river. It's the same thing if hazardous material spills and ties up the interstates. I think they are drumming up business, but it won't work. When you bottom out, that load is gonna just sit there in the bottom of the river. Just my input. Dry out and have a good day.

Lost my ride

I'm sitting here today with tears. It's getting close to Christmas. I am broke. I have four children. I couldn't believe my ears. I was wanting a ride to go to church. They come and took my car because I couldn't handle the payments. I didn't get to go to church this morning. It reminds me about the story that there was no room at the inn. You ask people to take you to church and there's no room. It reminds me of Jesus not having a place to sleep. I just wanted to bring that up. I want somebody to pray for me. I need to find a church to pray for me.

Save your breath

In regards to the handicapped stickers, wanting people to call them in. I was at a business up in town and this person parked in a handicapped spot and went down to a restaurant with a child. She came back in awhile and came back to the store where I am. My daughter told her it was against the law to park in the handicapped and she said my mother is handicapped. She went ahead and shopped and did just what she wanted to. We called the police, told them where she was, how long she'd been there and they never showed up. So that's no good calling and reporting them. The police won't do nothing about it.
