Not so hot

I was just wondering with all this cold weather we've had, why the city of Sikeston doesn't have any warming centers for the less fortunate. I think it's time for Sikeston to examine its policy of providing services to its citizens.

Once is a mistake

I get so tired of hearing things that the government is going to do for these little ol' gals that get out and have all these babies. The best thing they can do is keep their panties on. I think we need to go back to what they used to use in the old days with a lock on it, a chastity belt, and throw the key away. It's just ridiculous. They need to teach them to do other things, get up on their feet, off their backs and quit giving them everything free. I can understand having one baby, that's a mistake. But four, five and six? Unh-uh, that's a check for mama.

A little static

I would like to Speakout about the Jan. 9 column where they talk about the poor pitiful linemen. I would like to know where I can go to work for $40 an hour for 24 hours straight and just be away from my family and make about a thousand dollars? I would be glad to do that twice a week. Twice a week at least.
