It's a miracle

This is Anthony Scheffer. My father was Clem Scheffer. My brother is also a Clem Scheffer III. He owns office supplies. But to get to the point, I was in Missouri Delta Hospital. I live here in town. I was not breathing. I was pretty well flat-lined. The hospital to me is a miracle. I'm breathing and talking today. I heard them talking. They were writing down the time of death on me. My body jerked and went up about five inches. I got respirated and then I could talk again. They saved my life through God. I would just like to let everybody know that that's a very good hospital to go to. I have experienced life after death and that hospital brought me back to life. I feel like they deserve the credit and God Almighty deserves all the credit, but He has special workers on earth to help these miracles happen. It's a miracle! I don't know if you need to call me back or I need to come up there. But it's a miracle from God. The story I have will blow your mind. I was not breathing. I was flat-lined. They brought me back to life.

Don't send a red cent

These old television preachers, there's only one on there that really preaches the Bible and doesn't try to sell anything. Most of them don't even mention God, they just sell stuff, sell this, sell that. That's not doing God's work, that's making money for themselves. I don't think people should send them a red cent unless they can prove it legitimately that they are using it for God's work instead of their own self. They always say send your money to God, but they give you their address. Most of them are just up there to pad their pockets. And women preaching, that's a sin right there. Women are not supposed to be preachers. If they get up there and tell people how to live, they oughta learn how to live themselves. That's a sin right there. Most preachers don't even use the King James version of the Bible, they use the NIV and all that stuff. Some of them even use those tablets. If you are gonna preach, use the real God's word, the King James version. It's ridiculous.

Not in that category

Hello, I was just reading the Sunday, Feb. 23, Southeast Missourian. Big front page Changing view of gay couples, same sex marriage gaining legal stature and acceptance. Please do not put me in the acceptance part of that. Exclude me. I still believe in the Bible.

Cost of minimum wage

Some logic on minimum wage. In December there were only 74,000 new jobs compared with the 214,000 average the previous four months. Manufacturing was slower in January than in December. Four more times people are on food stamps than four years ago, with more jobless and poor with a resulting cutback in their purchasing power. Small businesses will have less sales for income, with grocery stores making for instance only a few cents per dollar sale and gas stations making only a few cents per gallon. Finances for small companies are tight. Small businesses are the backbone of our economy. They are having increasing costs for inventory and government regulations and taxes and overhead, besides payroll. Businesses raise pay to keep good workers from going elsewhere for better pay. The company has to pay bills. Let's let businesses determine what they can pay. Workers' pay can be improved if unions weren't sucking money out of their paychecks.
