BENTON -- The Kelly High School Drama Club will take its audience on a time travel in a murder mystery adventure during its annual spring play.

Set for 7 p.m. today and Friday in the high school gymnasium, the drama club will present "The Secret Case of Sherlock Holmes." The production is a two-act lighthearted adaptation about the well-known character Sherlock Holmes and his sidekick, Dr. Watson.

"We have a pretty big cast this year -- somewhere around 17 or 18 kids," director Valerie Ward. "We have several young cast members and a lot of freshmen who are first-time actors and actresses."

The play begins with Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson in 1886. The two end up taking a time machine to present day and wind up in a psychiatric hospital where the patients there believe they're celebrities -- from Marilyn Monroe and George Washington to Tarzan and Count Dracula.
