No winning

The way I understand, the lottery is supposed to help fix the schools, get schools a lot of things for the students and supposed to fix the highways and stuff. Well it looks like to me the Missouri Lottery kind of reneged on their deal and I think they need to get it checked out before anymore schools start closing down.

Who's hurting who?

This is in response to Roy Blunt's article that says Obamacare continues to hurt Missourians. I beg to differ with you. Missourians are hurting themselves. If the legislators would expand the Medicaid like they should, it would help the poor people and the people in need that are trying to make a living, that would be the number one priority instead of giving themselves rich raises. Just like the woman from Scott City, that said after 36 years she had cancer and they quit covering her. That's a bunch of bull. If she didn't pay her premiums they are gonna drop her. If she didn't read between the lines before she got cancer, that's her problem not the insurance company's. The other thing is about the man from Desloge about his wife's pacemaker. My mom had a pacemaker for years and she didn't have to go to the hospital. They did the follow-up check-ups via the telephone where they hooked her up to the phone and did special interruptions with phone service. She had to push a button and that worked just fine. You better stop and think. It's not so much the Democrats. The Republicans are trying to blow smoke up your butt.

Have I got news for you!

So April 15, 2014, is the big Charter channel shuffle. I was not very pleased at what I saw when I turned on my TV this morning. I always watch KFVS news when I am getting ready for work and usually have my TV set to the HD CBS on Charter Channel 707. I flipped on the TV with the channel set at 707 and what do I see? Porn! Channel 707 had the Showtime logo displayed on screen (but was still listed as KFVS in the guide) and was playing a movie with very graphic nudity. This is not what I wanted to see at 5 in the morning. Totally unacceptable. What would have happened if my child would have turned on the TV instead of me? I double-checked the new channel lineup that Charter provided and it listed 707 as CBS HD. That tells me the station wasn't going to change. When I got home this evening, I checked again and 707 was back to CBS HD. I plan to let Charter know how unacceptable this is. This entire channel shuffle is very unnecessary in my opinion and very costly to the customers. Every few years we end up having to memorize new channel numbers. Remember the days when TV used to be free? Now we have hundreds of stations and have to pay dearly for the few that we watch. A big change like the one Charter is doing is going to better the customer? Yeah, but it comes with a huge price tag. Our bills are going to increase to pay for this change, maybe not today but very soon. But their service won't get any better.
