Against the Core

I'd like to know what people have against Common Core? Forty some states are using it. All I can see wrong with it is people don't want to use paper and pencil again like they used to. They use these smart boards, computers and all that stuff. When the kids get ready to take a test, they don't even know what they are doing. They guess at it, but that is all. I know this for a fact. I saw the other day a lady had her children on Facebook trying to sell signs against Common Core. I would hate to use my children in such a way and call Common Core un-American. I think it might be un-American to use children that way.

Something's not right

I'm calling about the guy who called into SpeakOut and said he moved here from the right to work state and said he made better wages there in a right to work state than he does here. What my question is if the right to work state was so good and he made more money there, what's he doing here in Missouri?

Rougher than ever

I don't know where MoDOT found these people to pave Highway 61, but it is rougher than it was. This is an outrage.

Tracking the progress

After looking at the April 20 issue of the Standard where they are working on the caboose, it will be a miracle of the thing is done by Labor Day.

That repairman is gone

I'm calling in response to a Speakout wanting to know about sweeper repairs. I don't know anyone in Sikeston, but the man who used to be on Center Street told me he wasn't going to repair sweepers anymore, that we would have to have them done in Cape Girardeau and that place is the Golden Needle.
