Beating investigated

SIKESTON -- The Sikeston Department of Public Safety is investigating what appears to be a severe beating.

At about 1:23 a.m. Thursday DPS received a report from workers operating a solid waste collection truck of a man found in an alley between Greer Avenue and Matthews Avenue, according to Capt. Jim McMillen, public information officer for Sikeston DPS.

"They just found him laying there," McMillen said. "He was unconscious, obviously injured, so they called us, got EMS out there."

The victim, identified as Clint Jobe, was taken to Missouri Delta Medical Center for treatment and later taken to a hospital in Cape Girardeau for additional tests and medical exams, he said
