Charleston shooting under investigation

CHARLESTON -- Police are investigating a shooting Thursday that injured a Charleston man.

About 12:10 p.m. Thursday, Charleston Department of Public Safety Chief Robert Hearnes said the department received several calls of shots fired in the 700 block of Gail Street. Responding officers discovered a male victim in the roadway with a gunshot wound.

The victim, Larico Coleman, 35, of Charleston was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment where he is listed in stable condition, Hearnes said.

There are no suspects in custody at this time, Hearnes said.
