West side story

I live on the west side of Sikeston, Missouri. There is a lot going on on the west side. We retired people down on the west side we have company all the time. So we had a friend who parked a car in my yard. Someone cut all four of his tires, all four of them. It is a shame that the police can not do anything about it because my yard is connected to the other lots, my friend's car was on my side and the police officer said try not to park on the grass side but that is our land also. I don't understand. There is so much going on. People work hard for their things and it seems somebody just destroys things. People they just don't care about anything and they act like they don't care about anything out in this section of town. And even our police officers, it seems like they don't care what is going on down in this west side of town. They need to get down here and clean up the homes on the west side because it is unbelievable. They need military people. We wouldn't have to deal with a lot of trash and stuff. This used to be a nice subdivision but now it is just going to the dogs because people don't care how their houses look or their yard looks. They don't even care how they look, smoking and drinking all day long down in this area like it is nothing. This is one time I wish that Sikeston was run like a military post because it is unbelievable how we have to live in a situation like this. It all uncalled for. Someone needs to be doing something about it. And having friends come down for the weekend and having someone vandalizing their property it is uncalled for because people work too hard for what they have.

Parasite insight

I suggest everyone watch, when possible, the shows on the Animal Planet called "Monsters Inside Me." Then ask yourself why the American medical industry does not ask the question first, is there a parasite rather than putting people through a mountain of tests and unnecessary treatments and risking the lives of patients because they assume that there is no parasite. I think it is criminal and I think as with veterinary treatment the first question to be asked is "Let's see if there are parasites." Then you move on to other treatments and to deny that or ignore it is criminal.

Board battles

Calling in response to the Monday, Sept. 15, Speakout, regarding the school board and the battle just looking for answers. The caller wanted to know what you can do to get information about what goes on behind closed doors with out school board. I would just say what we are seeing with our local school board is a microcosm of what is happening throughout government, whether it be local, state or national. Taxpayer money is being used by bureaucrats to build a wall around their little dynasty and protect themselves from the very people whom they confiscate all their funds to run as they see fit. They do not want any interference from the people who they depend on for their money to operate with. They snicker at you behind your backs, they laugh and joke about how they were able to out-maneuver you after a school board meeting. They think you were a bunch of imbeciles to deceive and manipulate. Good luck on getting any sunshine into this. They have their own attorney paid for by your tax dollars. Nothing is going to change until you parents and you taxpayers get involved in mass. You can't leave it up to four or six individuals to represent you. You have to change. They are making a mockery out of our American system of governance. It will only change when you get involved and demand change. The more you sit at home and cuss behind your closed doors, the more they are going to manipulate and spend your money and laugh at you behind your back behind their closed doors.
