Lynn Feeler, event chairperson for the Sikeston Lions Club annual chili day, is pictured preparing chili for the 2013 event. The annual Lions chili day returns on Oct. 3 with meals available from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 4:30-7 p.m. at the Wesley United Methodist Church. (submitted photo)

SIKESTON -- Lynn Feeler will once again take her spot at the stove, carefully stirring up the chili for the Lions Club Chili Day.

Ask Feeler what makes the Lions Club chili so good and she laughs, saying: "It is good, but I can't tell you. It's a secret."

But she is more than happy to reveal what all the chili supper enables the club to do.

"Folks are helping to support the worthy causes in the community by enjoying a bowl of chili and a superdog," Feeler said. She then ticks off the list of groups and causes the club has donated to ranging from the Kenny Rogers Children Center to the Veterans Park and from the Humane Society to Missouri Delta Medical Center.
