Main Street mayhem

If you'd like to see a disaster in the making, drive down Main Street in East Prairie and see what they've done to our merchants. East Prairie doesn't have a very big gathering for people out of town to buy anything, but the people in town do. No one I have talked to has ever seen such a mess that has been created. If I owned a business on Main Street, I'd see if I could sell it to some unsuspecting person and go somewhere else to live. What a disaster.

From Lone Star to Show Me

I've been in a lot of states and talked to people. I didn't want to tell anyone when I lived in Texas that I was from Sikeston. I did tell someone and they said that people down there didn't like people in Sikeston because all there is is a bunch of rich stuck-up people. Well, you know, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. It's a viscous cycle. There's no in-between. You are either rich or poor in Sikeston. It is what it is.
