On Dec. 6, the Charleston High School JROTC conducted an educational field trip to Elephant Rocks State Park, located on Highway 21 North of Pilot Knob. This park is known for its giant granite rock boulders, which are 1.36 billion year old, and the distinctive landscape, foliage and fauna. There are also carvings in the rocks from quarry workers long ago.
