LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Six members of the Kelly FFA and their advisor, Jeff Scherer, attended the National FFA Convention in Louisville.

Members selected based on the number of participation points earned this school year were; Kaylee Scherer, Darrien Boden, Aaron Birk, Amanda Hulshof, Kenzie Scherer and Mitchell Proctor.

The theme of this year's convention was "Go All Out."

The group visited the Career Show and Shopping Mall in the Louisville Convention Center. The Career Show contained booths from many different agricultural businesses including John Deere, Case IH and Monsanto. Many booths had activities for FFA members to be involved in such as karaoke, as well as Fords "Are you Tough enough" challenge.

The Shopping Mall provided a place for FFA members to purchase souvenirs.

The opening session of the convention was in Freedom Hall, where thousands of FFA member filled the seats to listen to motivational speaker Nick Vujicic. He is a man without any limbs except for one small foot, who urges the audience to "Live Without Limits." He talked of the issues he had growing up and being different from everyone else and told the audience to not worry about what others may think of you.

The night ended with a visit to the Haunted Hotel there in Louisville.

Thursday's activities included touring FirstBuild, a company generated from ideas collected online about how to take normal household appliances and make them even more useful and efficient with the newest technology. The night members attended the Daniel Bradbery and Scotty McCreery concert in the KFC Yum! Center.

Before heading home Friday morning, students attended a Leadership Workshop at the Expo Center presented by employees of Tyson Food, Inc.
