SPEAKOUT (471-6636)

Thursday, March 19, 2015

A snack and a snip

To all of you kind people that are feeding these stray cats, will you also be kind enough to have them neutered? They are stinking up the neighborhood.

Right is wrong

I would like to speakout against Holly Rehder and her Right to Work agenda. Right to Work is wrong for Missouri. Lowering the middle class wages is not good for any community, especially here in Sikeston where we need to build our middle class community.

Rules are enforced

Dear SpeakOut, I live in government housing in East Prairie, and our housing officer is allowing felons in our neighborhood that shouldn't be allowed in our neighborhood. I have family who's not even felons who are not allowed to come and visit me. I have to go elsewhere to see them. That is not right. The office said they had a right to allow who they wanted in our neighborhood. I would move but house rent is so high everywhere else. I guess I am just stuck in government housing. But he needs to do right by everyone.

>>This is a false accusation. I assume this is from an upset resident who has received a grievance hearing and perhaps did not like the results, just guessing? We have a code officer that enforces our rules and regulations and some residents do not appreciate that, especially if they have visitors who do not meet our standards. We have adopted policies that he enforces. Our code officer is a true asset to our housing community and most are happy with this situation. Thank you. --Carole King, Executive Director
