Student at St. Francis Xavier Catholic School receives honors in Lions Peace Poster contest

SIKESTON - A Sikeston student earned honors in a contest sponsored by Lions Club International.

Selena Priggel, a seventh grade student at Saint Francis Xavier School, was honored during a ceremony at the school on March 18 for placing third in the Lions Club Peace Poster Contest District division. She received a certificate of achievement for her effort.

Selena's poster's theme was: "No matter the color of your skin, everyone should be friends."

According to the Lions Club International's Web Site posters are judged on originality, artistic merit and expression of the theme. The contest is open to students ages 11-13.
