It's a goner

Any idea what is going on at the old Charter building on Malone?

They are tearing it down.

Gotta go through Cairo

Mike, it's a little bit late for Memorial Day weekend, but would you remind all your friends who go to Kentucky Lake that the old bridge on Highway 60 is closed? They have to go the interstate and go through Cairo to get to Kentucky Lake.

Pre-pay - no way

This is in regards to the city wanting to pass an ordinance on pre-paying for fuel. I think that's a little ridiculous because I may not know exactly how much I am going to need for fuel. I may decide that I want to get something else in the store after I get fuel. If I pay too much, I have to make an extra trip into the store. I think that's telling the business what they have to do, instead of the business deciding what they want to do. And besides, fuel prices in Sikeston are way higher than Puxico, Lake Wappapello or any other town around here. They are at least a dime higher than everywhere else. It's amazing how they always go up before the holidays and then down afterwards. That's price gouging. I've been keeping track of it and I've contacted the Missouri attorney general.

Right or wrong to work

A few years ago they had a bill up where this area would be a Right-to-Work state or close shop. The closed shop part of it passed. And now we got people up there telling us we don't know what we'd do and what we won't so we need to have a Right-to-Work state. It's really easy to handle the situation of this. If you go to a place that has a union and you don't want to join the union and pay the money, walk out the door. There are plenty of minimum wage jobs out there for people. The union kept the safety, training, insurance and stuff like that for employees that a lot of companies don't have.
