SIKESTON - A Sikeston man is reported in serious but stable condition after being shot multiple times.

Officers with the Sikeston Department of Public Safety were dispatched around 10:40 p.m. Monday to 815 Ruth St., where they found a 26-year-old man with multiple gun shot wounds.

According to Capt. Jim McMillen, DPS public information officer, a resident nearby said they heard several gunshots and looked out to see the man stumbling in the street. The man walked up to a house and the residents inside called 911, McMillen reported in a news release.

EMS responded and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment of his wounds. Police are looking for information in reference to this shooting and are asking anyone who has information to contact Sikeston DPS at 573-471-4711. All tips can remain anonymous, McMillen said.
