Portageville rolls to 52-0 win over Barat Academy

PORTAGEVILLE -- Jon Garrett Kellams and Daniel McCray combined for six touchdowns during Portageville's 52-0 victory over Barat Academy Friday during its season opener at home.

Kellams, a senior, threw for 158 yards, one interception and three touchdowns on 9 of 12 passing. McCray added 148 of Portageville's 233 yards on the ground. The senior running back also had three touchdowns.

Sophomore Ian Torrey caught three passes for 79 yards and two touchdowns while Will Crysler added four catches, 46 yards and one touchdown. Lamar Alexander ran six times for 55 yards and two touchdowns.

"I was happy for the way our boys played last Friday under those circumstances. You have a game to play and they played. I really do not have any complaints," said head coach Jeff Bullock.

Barat Academy, who had 13 players dressed on the sideline, earned 70 yards on 31 carries and went 3 of 8 with an interception for -3 yards in the air.

Portageville will take to the field again this Friday hosting Chaffee. "They also got a win last Friday, and they will be chomping at the bits for another win, but we will have to be the better team," Bullock added.
