Field's not in vision

I have been looking forward to seeing Sikeston's home games on the school channel. So far they haven't had any of the games on. I can't go to the games but I sure was looking forward to seeing them. So far I haven't seen any of them. Does anybody know why?

Could you tell me why the Sikeston High School football games have not been televised like they have been in the past? Just curious.

In 2015, Sikeston Public Schools was very fortunate to partner with businesses in our community to purchase a state of the art scoreboard complete with video capabilities. In order to utilize this new equipment to its potential, a production team of high school students and staff was put together. In preparation for the first home athletic event, broadcasting the football games live on the SPS-12 channel had to be put on hold. The same students and staff are part of both production teams and their time was limited before the first event. In addition to the new video technology, we were excited to webcast our football games via the Internet to reach viewers outside of the Sikeston community. This has allowed family of our student athletes living beyond the reach of SPS-12 to watch their children and grandchildren play on Friday nights. This

technology was introduced at our second football game on September 4th. As we are preparing for the October 9th Homecoming game, we are planning to broadcast the event live on SPS-12. Our students and staff have learned the production routine and have integrated new technologies at each of our home games. We invite you to tune in to watch the game or even come support the student athletes

from the stands. As always, we appreciate the support the community has for our student athletes and our athletic programs. -- Andy McGill, Athletic Director

Another scammer

I received a threatening call from someone claiming to be from the IRS. They were even brave enough to leave their number. I wanted to share the information so people will be aware of the scam. The number they left was 202-697-9296. I called the FTC and reported it and they told me to contact police and the local paper. If you get a call from someone claiming to be from the IRS from this number or from a blocked number that leaves this call-back number, it is a scam. Do not call them back. The IRS will not contact you by phone if there is a problem.
