Dexter man killed in two-vehicle crash

MOREHOUSE -- A Dexter man was killed when a vehicle he was a passenger in was struck by a truck.

David N. Quoos, 73, was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident by Stoddard County Coroner Kenny Pope at 10:35 a.m. Tuesday on Highway 60, a half mile west of Morehouse. David Quoos' death is the 53rd fatality recorded in the Troop E area by the Missouri Highway Patrol.

According to the Patrol's report, Carol A. Quoos, 73, of Dexter was driving eastbound on Highway 60 at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday, when a southbound truck, driven by Trent M. McMillan, 22, of Sikeston failed to yield. The Quoos' vehicle then struck McMillan's truck causing the Quoos' vehicle to run off the right side of the roadway and overturn.

Both drivers were reported seriously injured in the accident. Carol Quoos was taken by Air Evac to Saint Francis Medical Center for treatment and McMillan was taken by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center.
