Zalma teen accused of incest, rape

ZALMA - A Zalma, Missouri, man reportedly told police he molested a underage relative Nov. 10 and had sex with her multiple times over the past two years.

Brian David Ely Jr., 17, is charged with felony counts of sodomy and incest and a misdemeanor count of child molestation.

He was arrested by Bollinger County Sheriff's officers Nov. 12.

That day, the Bollinger County Sheriff's Department received a call from Ely that he left a residence on Bollinger County Road 710 because his stepmother assaulted him, according to a probable-cause statement filed by Detective Della Moore.

Shortly afterward, Natalie D. Ely called and said her stepson had been having sex with a teen relative and raped another family member, Moore wrote.

After Brian Ely agreed to come to the station, Moore informed him of his Miranda rights, but he confessed to molesting a family member Nov. 10, the report stated.

"Ely stated that they have had sex in the past, the last time being approximately one year ago," Moore wrote. "Ely stated that he was going to have sex with (the victim) on Tuesday, but he was afraid he was going to get caught."

Ely stated he began having sex with the teen relative when the victim was 13, Moore wrote.

Ely then told Moore he thought he had sex with the relative between May and July, and intercourse occurred five or six times total, Moore wrote.

The victim told officers at Beacon Health Center she was forcibly raped Nov. 10 and had been forcibly raped more than 10 times in the past two years, Moore wrote.
