Twin Rivers eases by Richland, advances in consolation bracket

BLOOMFIELD -- Eighth-seeded Twin Rivers went ahead by 19 points after one quarter and little trouble taking down No. 16 Richland during the consolation quarterfinals of the Bloomfield Christmas Tournament in Bloomfield.

The Royals' 90-60 win pits them against No. 13 Bernie in the consolation semifinals on Tuesday at 1 p.m.

Five players scored in double figures as Twin Rivers built a 43-23 lead by halftime. Josh Suiter led the Royals with 19, Jacob Mitchell had 18, Andrew Mittelstadt scored 17 and Chance Wilkerson chipped in 12.

Richland, who was eliminated from the tournament, was paced by Preston Tilley's 26 points. Clayton Harriel added 11.
