BENTON, Mo. -- A woman was able to flee from an alleged sexual assault when her dog bit her assailant.

Richie M. Dock, 55, of Oran, is charged with the felonies of first-degree sexual abuse, first degree sodomy and felonious restraint.

Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter said detectives at the Sheriff's Office were contacted Thursday by the victim, who reported Dock had sexually assaulted her at his apartment in Oran.

According to the victim, while at Dock's apartment, Dock told her he wanted to be with her since they had met. The victim said Dock began to kiss and touch her inappropriately, and she pushed Dock away and told him to stop.

The victim said Dock got a stick-like object and began waving it at her and threatened to strike her with the object. Dock then sat on her and straddled her legs with his.

By doing this, the victim could not get up and leave on her own, the sheriff said.

Dock exposed himself to her and became forceful with her, wanting her to perform sexual acts on him.

According to the news release, the victim called for her dog, which came and bit Dock. After being bit, Dock released the victim, enabling her to leave.

However, the victim stated Dock follows her around town and has threatened to have someone assault her. She said Dock also makes comments about sex to her and propositions her for sex.

Dock, who is currently a registered sex offender, was located and arrested by detectives. During an interview, Dock refused to answer questions.

At press time, Dock remained in custody at the Scott County Jail. Bond is set by the court at $25,000 cash or surety and no contact with the victim.
