Bloomfield pedestrian dies after being struck by vehicle

DUDLEY, Mo. -- A Bloomfield pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle late Saturday in Stoddard County.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 10:19 p.m. on US 60, two miles east of Dudley, when the vehicle driven by Tommy R. Winn, 66, of Cadiz, Ky., struck pedestrian, Jamie D. Sifford, 38, of Bloomfield, who was walking in the driving lane of US 60.

Sifford was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:55 p.m. by acting Stoddard County deputy coroner Greg Mathis and taken to Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Winn's passenger, Linda K. Winn, 66, of Cadiz received minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Southeast Health of Stoddard County in Dexter.

Sifford's death marked the 15th fatality for the Patrol's Troop E in 2016.
