Because it Pleased the Lord

In Isaiah 53:10 we read, "Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him;" This statement reveals that the death of Jesus was brought about because it was the Father's plan from the beginning to send Him as an atoning sacrifice for sin. God's grace prompted him to offer his only Son as "an offering for sin." Ephesians 2:8 affirms that "By grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God." The Greek word for grace is χάρις (charis). It refers to the beneficial actions of God in which he reveals Himself, His gifts, and to some, His life. It is God's goodness manifested to undeserving man.
