Portageville Lady Dawgs surge past NMCC 10-3 in district

Wednesday, May 10, 2017

NEW MADRID, Mo. - A constant hit barrage from the Portageville softball team eventually became too much for the New Madrid County Central Eagles to handle. The top-seeded Bulldogs scattered 10 hits and managed at least one run each inning during their 10-3 win over the No. 2 Eagles during the Class 1, District 1 championship game Wednesday in New Madrid, Mo. This is Portageville's first spring district championship after spending the last four seasons competing in the fall. The Bulldogs are used to the postseason. During the past two fall seasons in which they've competed, Portageville finished third in the state.
