Russ Hoggard and his State Farm insurance staff held a retirement reception for Spain on Friday, May 19. Many of her friends and clients came to see her and wish for her nothing but the best.
"In August of 1982, I began to work for State Farm agent Billy Brown Jr. His father Billy Brown Sr. had a State Farm office as well. We would help each other, and it didn't take me long to realize insurance was what I liked doing. I enjoy talking and helping people."
"Billy believed in me and allowed me to become independent in the business. Customers would see Billy and ask him a question and he would say, "Call the office! If Brenda says it's okay then it's okay."
"After Billy retired, I was by myself for a few years. Then, Russ Hoggard became the new State Farm
agent. We both clicked, and became a great 'TEAM'! Russ always made me feel important and showed me he depended on me. Through all these years, we were blessed with a great team member. We became friends and worked together well, respect is the key word," she adds!
She attended Portageville High School and graduated in 1975. In May of 1975, she married Eddie Spain and are celebrating their 42nd wedding anniversary. "God blessed us with two sons Kenneth and Kyle. Then, another blessing with our two grandchildren Hannah and Hunter. We also have a wonderful daughter-n-law, Danielle. I love my little family and they each have my whole heart," she said excitedly.
State Farm, as a company, would have lots of promotions throughout the year. They would do those promotions with a lot hard work. "One of my biggest accomplishments was being a 'Team Member Hall of Fame', you had to sell so much life insurance to be a member," Spain said.
"I was a charter member started in 2005, and was a member for 10 years. I liked representing State Farm Insurance and enjoyed my job. The most rewarding thing I got from my job is that my customers "Trusted Me", "Needed Me" and "Cared about me"! What a great feeling that is to have. They knew I would help then and I cared about them. I love each of my customers. We shared our thoughts-laughter and tears with each other. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your lives! Memories Forever. Russ, I love you as my family," she concluded.
