Painting in the park
Sunday, June 18, 2017
Oscar Wilde, a 19th century Irish poet and novelist argued that "life imitates art far more than art imitates life." Sikeston artist Lynn Lancaster spent Friday morning imitating life and painting his view of the Sikeston Depot and caboose by the cobblestone part of North Kingshighway. Lancaster uses several layers of colors and different brush strokes to create depth and shadows in his art work. Lancaster's painting will be displayed at the art exhibit beginning July 1 at the Sikeston Depot.
