Bronze bust in the likeness of the late Joel Montgomery Sr. unveiled

SIKESTON -- In 1957, Joel Montgomery, Sr., a native of Sikeston was presented with an opportunity to purchase the controlling interest of Planters Bank, a small community bank with one location in Sikeston. After consulting with his family, he agreed that he would take a chance on this new business venture. The rest is history.
