Jim Swiney
PINEVILLE, Mo. -- James Rodney "Jim" Swiney, 68, died Oct. 27, 2016.
Born May 14, 1948, son of James Swiney of New Madrid and the late Lillian Swiney, he grew up in Southeast Missouri and graduated from Parma High School and attended college at Southwest Baptist in Bolivar. He served as pastor at Catron Baptist Church and later he was a respiratory therapist and owned his own business for several years in Arkansas and Missouri.
In addition to his father, survivors include: his stepmother, Nevada Swiney of New Madrid; one daughter and son-in-law, Jamie and Jeff East of Navarre, Fla.; one son, Bryan James Swiney of Arkansas; two grandsons and one granddaughter.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Jeffrey Brent.
A memorial service was held Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Pineville. Larry Crawford, pastor, officiated.
Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson was in charge of arrangements.
