CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Coleman Daniel Jones, 27, of Cape Girardeau, passed away Friday, April 7, 2017, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, following a brief illness and surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Cape Girardeau, on Aug. 10, 1989, to Tony and Cindi Jones. He was the valedictorian of the New Madrid County Central graduating class of 2008. He then attended Southeast Missouri State University graduating with Bachelor of Science in radio communications. After graduation, he was employed by River Radio Group in Cape Girardeau as a broadcast engineer and station producer.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by one brother, Stowe Jones and Ashleigh DuPree of St. Louis; his maternal grandmother, Marjorie Phillips of New Madrid; aunt, Kathie Brune and Brad of Cape Girardeau; uncle, William Richard Phillips III of New Madrid; aunt, Frances Gould and Tim of Cape Girardeau; and cousins Jeff Brune and Shea (Adalia, Ellis, and Harrison) of Cape Girardeau, Allison Evans and Charles (Cece Rose) of Cape Girardeau, Adam Davis and Andrea (Hudson and Hayden) of Franklin, Tenn., Matthew Davis and Megan (Grady) of Cape Girardeau, Madison and Lexi Phillips of New Madrid and Carly Phillips of Starkville, Miss.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William Richard Phillips Jr., and his paternal grandparents, Louis Franklin and Dorothy Jones.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid with Rosary at 7:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church in New Madrid, officiated by the Rev. Jaroslaw Skrzypek.

Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery at New Madrid.
