Sikeston students honored

SIKESTON -- Elizabeth Ann Backfisch and Brandon Moore were named Sikeston High School Students of the Month for February.

Sikeston Public Schools Foundation, which sponsors the monthly program, names two seniors each month for the honor. Character, leadership, service, citizenship and scholastic ability are criteria used to select the students each month.

Backfisch is the daughter of Wendi Chidester and Eric Backfisch. She is a member of the Red Peppers, marching band, Link Crew, Key Club, A+ Tutoring and National Honors Society.

Moore, who is the son of Dana Moore and Billy Moore Jr., is a member of the newly formed Steam Club. His hobbies include watching football on Sundays with his dad, playing video games with his friends on his computer and reading manga and comics.
