Sikeston seniors receive honors

SIKESTON -- Betsy Anne McConnell and Ashlyn Bedell were named Sikeston High School Students of the Month for March.

Sikeston Public Schools Foundation, which sponsors the monthly program, names two seniors each month for the honor. Character, leadership, service, citizenship and scholastic ability are criteria used to select the students each month.

McConnell is the daughter of Britt and Lisa McConnell. She is a member of DECA, FCA, FBLA, Junior Optimist Club, Red Peppers, cheerleading (head cheerleader), National Honors Society and Top 10 percent of her class, and completed 100 service hours from the A+ Program.

Bedell, who is the daughter of Mia and Bryan Bedell, is a member of Red Peppers, Student Council, National Honor Society, Honor Roll, Link Crew, DECA, FBLA and FCCLA. Her hobbies include shopping, hanging out with friends and family, babysitting her younger siblings and pageants.
