Juvonia Reed Jr.

PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. -- Juvonia Reed Jr., 88, died Jan. 2, 2018, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.

Born Sept. 17, 1929, in Marston, Mo., to the late Juvonia and Sallie McCurry Reed, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Zion Rock Missionary Baptist Church in Portageville.

His wife, Viola Jennings Reed, survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Diana of South Bend, Ind. and Freddie Davis of St. Louis; four sisters, Mable Kerr of Kansas City, Lucille Evans of Benton Harbor, Mich., Eliza Bank Reed of Colorado, Ethal Mae Reed of Colorado; and several grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Zion Rock Church in Portageville.

Burial will follow at Lily of the Valley Cemetery in Point Pleasant, Mo.

Richards Funeral Home of New Madrid is in charge of arrangements.
