Man arrested after stealing car

MINER, Mo. -- One person is in custody after leading Miner Police on a short vehicle pursuit.

According to Miner Police Chief Chris Riggs, officers responded to the Sikeston Factory Outlet Mall on July 30 on a report of a stolen vehicle.

When officers arrived and made contact with the victim, they were told a GMC Jimmy was stolen from the parking lot. While officers were gathering information, the vehicle was spotted by an officer as it was attempting to exit the mall.

The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the vehicle fled, resulting in a short vehicle pursuit. Officers soon stopped the vehicle and arrested Robert L. Bom, 54, of the Sikeston area.

Bom was charged with tampering with a motor vehicle in the first degree, property damage, resisting arrest and driving while revokedand transported to the Scott County Sheriff's Office where his bond was set at $5,000.
