EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Two Anniston men are in custody on drug charges while East Prairie police are searching for a third man after an incident Thursday. According to a release from the East Prairie Police Department, at about 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Jimmy Dale Loflin, aka "Bo," 33, of East Prairie, drove to the East Prairie Police Department and told officers he was just shot at by Clyde David Franklin, 40, of East Prairie, just outside of the Anniston city limits. At that time, the Mississippi County Sheriff's Department was notified about the incident. Two other males then arrived at the police department and they were identified as Larry Jordan, aka "Cowboy," 60, and Joseph Clark, 19, both of Anniston. After some investigation, it was learned that Loflin stole the vehicle he arrived in from Franklin at a gas station while Franklin was inside. Loflin drove the vehicle straight to the police station. Franklin arrived at the police station and confirmed it was his vehicle that was stolen from him by Loflin. An officer searched the vehicle and found what he said was "the most amount of methamphetamine and cash I've ever seen in my nine years of service." Seized from the vehicle was about 3 pounds, 11 1/2 ounces of methamphetamine, 168 grams of marijuana and $17,000 cash. None of the individuals claimed the bag the items were located in. Franklin fled the police department and the Mississippi County Sheriff's Department began investigating the incident outside of the East Prairie city limits. The Mississippi County Sheriff's Department obtained a search warrant for Franklin's address in Anniston, and searched his home with the help of the East Prairie Police Department. Jordan, Clark and Franklin have been charged with felony drug trafficking of methamphetamine and felony distribution of a controlled substance. Their bonds were set at $200,000 cash only. Jordan and Clark are in custody but Franklin is currently out on bond for an unrelated incident but is now considered wanted and possibly armed and dangerous. Citizens are urged, should they see Franklin, to not approach him but contact the East Prairie Police Department at 573-649-3511.
