Rural Sikeston man jailed on drug charges

BENTON, Mo. -- A rural Sikeston man has been arrested on drug related charges.

According to a release from Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter, Joseph T. Johnson, 43, is charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

Walter said in the release that a drug investigation led to a search warrant being served at a rural residence east of Sikeston Monday night. During the search, deputies and investigators located a controlled substance and items commonly used to ingest the controlled substance.

Johnson was transported to the Scott County Jail where he remains in custody on a $10,000 bond.
